Who is this Earl guy?
Thank you for taking the time to hear my passion.
First of all, welcome to the invasion because we’re all a little alien!
I want to spend the rest of my life loving the fact that I’m a little different. I hope to encourage others to love and appreciate all the unique gifts and abilities that they have and that humanity has to offer. I also want to help them see the value in loving and respecting others for their uniqueness.
My message is simple and packaged in 3 points.
1. We’re All A Little Alien
We’re all a little different, maybe even a little weird, but that’s okay. Almost all young people connect with this point.
We’re all wired a little differently.
We’re made up of different colors, sizes, talents, gifts, strengths, and weaknesses. That’s what makes the world interesting, and that’s why we all need each other.
2. Compassion Makes A Difference
We all have stories of when someone showed compassion towards us. We will most likely never forget those times in our life. We also struggle to forget times when someone was hateful toward us, or mistreated, bullied, or abused us.
What do you want to be known or remembered for? I hope to be remembered by my compassion.
3. Be a 21st Century SKALAWAG!
The word "Scalawag" was formed in the early 1800s for a worthless barn animal.
In the late 1800s it became a derogatory term used by former slave-owners, after the Civil War. Any white southerner who was helping the freed black people get on with their new life was called a Scalawag.
So in reality a Scalawag back then was a good thing. You were labeled for being someone who helped a fellow human in need. Sounds to me like a badge of honor to called a Scalawag.
In 2020 I wanted to bring this word back into the 21st century. I replaced the “C” with a “K” and redefined it.
A Skalawag (or Skallywag) is, Someone willing to help anyone in need no matter their color or creed.
There are two types of people we will never forget in our lifetime. The encouragers and the discouragers. My desire is to be an encourager!

I hope you’ll jump on this bus, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Encourage someone today!
Earl
When I was a boy I realized that I was different than the other children. As I got older I learned that we’re all wired a little differently. Everyone is unique. And that's okay. That’s good!
I love: art, music, movies, acting, storytelling, public speaking, his faith, his wife, his daughters, traditions, the underdogs, and life.
In 1984, when I was 19 years old and a sophomore in college, an event took place that changed my life forever. I happened upon a car accident which involved kids from school. I knelt down beside a classmate, held her hand, and prayed over her. I just prayed that God would keep her alive. What I did not know was that she was already gone. She too was only 19.
That’s the day I understood that a fact of life is death. Time is limited. That night I decided that I wanted to help others. I wanted to make a difference.
I’ve been a public speaker since 1988. My desire is to share truth and encourage others as they cooperate with life.
I know that I’m not perfect and that I don’t have all the answers. But I…
• love to learn
• love to laugh
• love to create
• love people, and
• love the fact that I’m… a little alien.
